SplitChevron mist eliminator
A vane-type mist eliminator designed for efficient separation of liquid droplets under various conditions, including fouling and aggressive media, with vertical or horizontal gas flow, with or without a drainage system for removing separated liquid.
We select profiles of different shapes for different tasks. Simple profiles separate liquid by impingement, coalescence and drainage on the vane surface without separating the liquid from the gas flow. They are particularly suitable for services with a significant fouling risk due to solids or high-viscosity liquids in the feed.
In more complex designs, the profiles form channels into which liquid separated from the gas enters through slots. The collected liquid flows to the bottom of the channel and is removed through drains.
The Spliteks portfolio includes more than twenty SplitChevron designs that have been successfully used in various separators and processes. Applications: wherever efficient separation with low hydraulic resistance is required. SplitChevron separation efficiency can be increased by combining it with a SplitMesh device.

Operating principle of the mist eliminator
The mist eliminator operates on the principles of inertial separation and coalescence. The gas stream containing liquid droplets passes through a system of profiled vanes. When the flow direction changes, the droplets strike the profile surface by inertia and drain downwards as a film under gravity. The cleaned gas continues to flow with minimal moisture carryover.
The design operates efficiently with both vertical and horizontal flow, making the device suitable for different types of separator.
Design features
SplitChevron is available in several designs. Simple profiles separate liquid through impingement, coalescence and drainage. In more complex designs, the profiles form closed channels into which the separated liquid enters through special slots before being discharged through the drainage system.
